Recovery of Cu-Fe Alloy from Copper Smelting Slag

چکیده
Copper smelting slag usually contains 1–6 wt% copper, which can be recovered by pyrometallurgical and flotation processes. However, the tailing slags still consist of 0.3–0.7 Cu 35–45 Fe equivalents to those in copper iron ores, respectively. Most research was focused on recovery from slags. increase mechanical strength, corrosion resistance antibacterial property some steels. A new process recover directly fully hot is proposed produce Cu-Fe alloy for steel production. Effects flux, temperature, reaction time, reductant type addition were investigated high-temperature experiments thermodynamic calculations. It found that, with 5% CaO 13–16% carbon additions, most at 1350–1400 °C. The contents reduced are lower than 0.1% 0.5%, respectively, optimum condition. has advantages low energy consumption, flux high iron.

Recovery of Copper from Copper Slag and Copper Slag Flotation Tailings by Oxidative Leaching
Copper smelter slag and copper smelter slag flotation tailings were leached using sulphuric acid solutions, without or with the addition of either ferric sulphate or hydrogen peroxide. Copper extraction from the slag was typically found to be twice as high as that from the slag flotation tailings. Hydrogen peroxide was determined to be the best lixiviant. Thus, copper and iron extractions were ...
متن کاملThe optimization of Cu and Fe bioleaching from converter slag using Acidithiobacilus ferrooxidans
The main objective of this work was to assess the optimization of Fe and Cu bioleaching from converter slag using Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans. Important parameters that contribute to the bioleaching process include initial pH, initial Fe2+ concentration and pulp density. In order to optimize these parameters, the response surface methodology (RSM) was applied. The maximum...
متن کاملEffect of grinding time on flotation recovery of copper smelting slags in Bardaskan district
Copper smelting slags are hard materials. Therefore,to recover their copper by flotation method, grinding should be carried out to obtain optimal particle size. Copper smelting slags in the Bardeskan district, with work index of 16.24 kwh/st, were grinded for 65 minutes to reach an acceptable degree of freedom for the flotation tests, with particle size of 80%, smaller than 70 μm. With this gri...
متن کاملThermodynamic Investigation of Copper Removal From Liquid Slag.
The removal of copper dissolved in liquid stags by pyrometalIurgical means such as gaseous reduction and sulfidization is thermodynamically investigated. The lowest level possible for copper content is theoretically determined and compared. The results show that gaseous reduction is not as effective as sulfidization. Slags with very low levels of dissolved copper can be obtained with sulfide tr...
متن کاملProduction of Cu-Cr-Zr Alloy Using Electro Slag Remelting Technique (RESEARCH NOTE)
This study focused on the effect of electro slag remelting process (ESR) on microstructure and composition of an as-cast alloy of Cu-Cr-Zr. These observations revealed that applying ESR process results in a more uniform distribution of alloying elements, however a slight aggregation of large precipitates and inclusions existed in as-cast ingot was found. Additionally, impurities like P, S and M...
